West Coast Bloggers?

After seeing that Cyclopeatron is moving it made wonder (again) why there aren't more west coast bloggers.  I know of Christian but he's more focussed on analog zines these days.  And Brunomac.  Is Talysman in Sacramento?  Seemed to have read that somewhere.  And I played with Grognardling at the same SoCal Mini-Con that I met Cyclopeatron at.  Ze Bulette is up in Oregon but currently on blogging hiatus.  And that's it.  Or at least the extent of my knowledge.  Tell me about your blog if you're on the West Coast especially in Cali.

  1. I haven't exactly attained great status as a blogger yet, but I'm in southwestern Washington. http://thedragonsflagon.blogspot.com

    1. Whatsup, WA buddy. I'm in Seattle, and I run monstroustelevision.blogspot.com.

Seattle has a thriving OSR community, although oddly few of them run blogs.

  2. I'm in Los Angeles. My blog isn't very good, and I'm very focused on DCC RPG and my zine, Crawl!

    http://dakdm.straycouches.com/ and http://www.crawlfanzine.com/

Don't forget Zak S, he's here in LA too.

But yeah, there just isn't that many old-school gamers in CA, but they exist.

  3. Well if nobody else is posting that's particularly good I might as well chime in.

I write a gaming blog, but it's not OSR only. I don't post often, and it's mainly an outlet for my gaming stuff. But I'm SF.

  6. I'm in Portland (Magician's Manse), but haven't been posting much lately, as I've been too concentrated on graduating right now.

  7. I write The Hydra's Grotto and I am in Seattle. Though I have never met him I apparently live down the street from JB, the author of B/X Blackrazor.

  8. Carter left Eugene two summers ago for upstate New York. I left Eugene for PA last summer. Like for Cyclopeatron these were both for academic/research positions. There are more jobs in colleges and universities in the east, it seems.

I thought Talysman was more like in Arkansas or southern Appalachia (I have no idea why I think that).

    1. Yes, the northeast seems to be pulling some of we longtime west-coasters away. . .

  9. Nope, I am in Sacramento, or actually more on the outskirts. Lum of Built By Gods Long Forgotten was in Sacramento, but has relocated to Washington. None of my other players had an RPG blog.

  13. Greg at Weirdlands of Xhuul is down here in SoCal - http://xhuul.blogspot.com/.
My g/f and I played in your game at the SoCal mini-con last year, but a) neither of us has a gameblog, and b) we're moving to NY this summer as well.

  14. Hey, thanks everyone for letting me know. By brain fart I forgot to mention ZakS @ http://dndwithpornstars.blogspot.com which I'm guessing you all know about.

I'll try to check out all your blogs. If any of you ever head through the Central Valley, let me know I'll buy you dinner or whatever. I'm in Fresno.

And hey Frotz Self, survivor of my invisible dungeon experiment good to see you here.

The Delvers can be amusing, but not because of me. It's their antics that are a riot.

  19. Thanks again. I'll be checking you all out.

  21. 1d30.wordpress.com - Tacoma, WA.

Well, there's only one other Tacoma and it's in Australia and has a population under 1000, so just saying Tacoma should be enough.

  22. Sweet, keep 'em coming. I'm thinking I might do another post with a list of everyone here from North to South along the coast.

  25. Hey Telecanter,

I'm in the California (Irvine area). I met you and played in your Redoubt of the Red Wizards at last years SoCal MiniCon 4. Since that time, I started a blog that's mostly about (but not limited to) custom gaming terrain modifications that I do. I hope you check it out -

  26. Lum already mentioned me, but I am in Sacramento. You would think that in a state of over 32 million people plenty of OSR bloggers would be in California, but this may just go to show how thinly spread we are.
