Something unexpected came up and we didn't have our session tonight. Disappointed, that makes two weeks no game. Oh well, I'll be even more prepared for the next session. Have a couple big cats. PD.
Telecanter, that public domain image you posted on Wednesday made idly wonder, are you familiar with the artwork/comics of Jim Woodring? If not, I'm pretty sure his masterpieces would float your boat.
Thanks for the tip Andrew. Yeah, Woodring is one of a kind. His art is a perfect example of what I'm talking about when I say I'm trying to mix tones for a dungeon; some of his pieces are playful, wondrous, and creepy at the same time.
And that seems to be a pretty decent definition of art, when something encompasses the complicated emotions of life rather than the simpler, distilled emotion of a genre piece.
