In fact i participated in shared/rotating DM duties in high school for a Champions game so I like the idea and know it isn't new.

I think what interested me about sharing maps is that it keys in on two things I love about our game: collaboration and making things. Typical modules don't interest me much because they turn the most collaborative game ever made into another boring consumer opportunity.

Also, I like things that makes the DM's experience more player-like and I think this could do that a bit.

@Paul: It would be cool if several groups decided to try it, but I think it would probably work better with a specially designed module.Telecanterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238356788092725244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-9138882652943805572013-03-04T14:52:31.772-08:002013-03-04T14:52:31.772-08:00@NUNYA

Referee's could make a brief check-in journal entry. The system itself could also make brief journal entries about restocking or random events.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12096724870715714696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-82837093535959609522013-03-04T13:26:21.185-08:002013-03-04T13:26:21.185-08:00NO, I ARE ALRAEDY AM PROOFED TAHT RYTH CAMPANE WAS...NO, I ARE ALRAEDY AM PROOFED TAHT RYTH CAMPANE WAS A HOACKS!!1 THAIR WAR NO SUCH THINGS AS A SCANNRE BAKC IN 1970'S...THEY WHIR LUCKY FOR A RUNNING WATER!!1

IT ARE A TRICKING HOACKS OSR-BROTHRES...DON'T BE FUELED AGAIN!!1

:/
-NUNYAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-86411380594522551352013-03-04T10:41:02.406-08:002013-03-04T10:41:02.406-08:00This is a more comprehensive entry about all thing...This is a more comprehensive entry about all things Ryth: http://www.risusmonkey.com/2012/03/return-to-ryth.html

Player Q&A links, other PDFs, etcburnedfxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04698632807214685951noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-37254882660501226832013-03-04T10:30:09.765-08:002013-03-04T10:30:09.765-08:00Dwarf Fortress came to my mind in your first parag...Dwarf Fortress came to my mind in your first paragraph, before I read your second. Heh.

Have you ever read the Ryth Chronicles?

http://www.risusmonkey.com/2011/06/ryth-chronicle-1975-1977.html

It dates back to 1975-1977. To my knowledge, it is the oldest recorded "Campaign Journal" of early D&D.

I bring this up, because they did just that. Multiple DMs, in the same campaign, player interactions affected other players in other sessions and so forth.

In my mind, this sheds light on the comments from Gary and others when they state they ran 20+ people in a single campaign. Surely they did not mean at the same time, right?burnedfxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04698632807214685951noreply@blogger.com
