Maybe card sheets by monster level, a pdf template for the encounter page itself, etc.Telecanterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238356788092725244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-23211061754369956282011-12-02T17:58:26.110-08:002011-12-02T17:58:26.110-08:00I like this idea a lot. I like it.Peter Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14246000382321978462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-68665776212377065192011-12-02T16:17:27.774-08:002011-12-02T16:17:27.774-08:00Thanks, yes, maybe a simple textual record critter...Thanks, yes, maybe a simple textual record critters higher on the food chain above others like:
gelatinous cube
owlbear, stirge
rats, koboldsTelecanterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07238356788092725244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6446461178381374626.post-39748481832262880772011-12-02T15:46:36.570-08:002011-12-02T15:46:36.570-08:00That's a really clever wandering monster solut...That's a really clever wandering monster solution. I especially like the "What's different?" section.

To help keep track of what monsters were where, it might serve to think of your wandering monster "set" for that dungeon as an ecosystem: a chain of predators, more of their prey than them, etc.

Not to say "prey" monsters will be peaceful to the characters - but every creature has something out there that's bigger and badder than they are. In a confined space, the various monsters would know who to run from.

It might be a good scare when a tough monster, who's maybe even winning in a fight, suddenly sniffs the air or hears a strange noise, and flees.frankiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06178431192316494332noreply@blogger.com
